Comau + F.T. FAMAT (case073)
Semi - Automatic line for gluing of insulating panels of fridges
From construction, to try-out, to production:
this was the story of the system designed by F.T. FAMAT
Our approach
To meet the customer's expectations FT Famat chose the Comau NJ-40-2.5 as the core of the semi-automatic line they created. The system consists of 5 stations placed on a rotating table.
The robot places a special insulating panel onto a sheet metal on which a hot melt was previously swirled. In the next station a roller presses the panel against the glue to guarantee the adhesion before the operator collects the finished part.
The main challenge of the project was the loading of the hand-made insulating panels.
The system had to be flexible to allow the final customer to process a wide range of panels.
These insulating panels often have manufacturing defects such as wrinkles, bending and imperfections, therefore a robust and reliable robot was needed.
"We needed a reliable and user-friendly robot and interface for this task. The NJ-40 was perfect for the purpose, allowing us to manipulate large objects and optimize the work of our engineers thanks to Comau's intuitive interface"
Easy and flexible system
Unlimited recipes, 7 different insulating panels to choose from
One finished piece every 12 seconds at full speed
Wide range of sizes of insulating panels 200 mm to 1550 mm length x 420mm to 670 mm width
